“I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them” (Daniel 7:8).

“Speak pompous words against the Most High, persecute the saints of the Most High, and intend to change times and law” (Daniel 7:25).

Historical Fulfillment of the Falling Away

Historically, this prophecy was fulfilled during the rise of the Papacy. Over time, church leaders assumed titles, authority, and powers belonging only to God.

The Papacy claimed authority to forgive sins, alter God’s law, and define doctrine independent of Scripture.

“He shall exalt himself” (2 Thessalonians 2:4).

During the Dark Ages, millions of faithful believers were killed for holding to biblical truth, fulfilling prophecy.

The Falling Away and the End Times

Although the falling away began centuries ago, its final phase occurs just before Christ’s return.

The same spirit of apostasy continues today as truth is replaced by tradition, human authority, and emotional experience.

“Having a form of godliness but denying its power” (2 Timothy 3:5).

God is calling His people out of this system.

“Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins” (Revelation 18:4).
