Understanding God’s Design and the Bible’s Teaching on Sex Change
The Bible does not use modern terms such as “sex change” or “gender transition,” but it speaks clearly about God’s plan for human identity. Scripture teaches that God intentionally created humanity as male and female, designing both biological sex and gender identity with purpose, blessing, and goodness. These truths shape the Christian worldview on sexuality, gender, and the question of changing one’s sex.
God’s Original Creation of Male and Female
The foundational teaching on human identity is found in the first chapter of Genesis. Scripture states:
“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:27).
