I’m really sorry you’re carrying this at 13. Loving your dad and being afraid of losing him is a very heavy thing, and it makes sense that you’re worried both about his health and about his relationship with God.
The Bible teaches that God loves your dad deeply and desires people to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9). Salvation is through Jesus Christ and is received by faith (John 3:16; Acts 16:31). At the same time, only God fully knows a person’s heart, what light they have received, and how they may respond to Him. So while you can pray for your dad, love him, and gently encourage him, you do not have to carry the responsibility for saving him. That belongs to God.
Since you said your dad has serious symptoms and refuses medical help, please tell another trusted adult right away, such as your mom, another relative, a pastor, teacher, or school counselor. If his symptoms seem life-threatening, call emergency services or get an adult to do so. Seeking medical care is not a lack of faith; doctors and treatment can be part of God’s provision.
You can also keep praying for both healing and salvation. God is able to heal, but we should pray with trust in His wisdom and will. James 5:14–16 encourages believers to pray for the sick, and Philippians 4:6–7 reminds us to bring our fears to God.
You might pray something like this:
“Father in heaven, please help my dad. You know exactly what is happening in his body and in his heart. Please protect him, lead him to get the medical help he needs, and bring healing according to Your will. Most of all, please draw him to Jesus and help him understand Your love and salvation. Give me peace, courage, and trusted adults who can help me through this. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
You do not have to face this fear alone. Please involve a trusted adult today, especially because of the medical symptoms.
