Did Jesus has a Brother?

Yes. The Bible clearly speaks of Jesus having brothers and sisters.

Matthew 13:55–56 says, “Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us?” Mark 6:3 gives the same basic list.

So Jesus had at least four men who were called His brothers: James, Joses, Simon, and Judas, along with unnamed sisters.

The main question is what the word “brothers” means in these passages. Many Protestants understand them to be the biological children of Mary and Joseph born after Jesus, which would make them Jesus’ younger half-brothers because Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit rather than by Joseph. Others say they may have been Joseph's children before he married Mary, perhaps from a previous marriage. This idea is sometimes supported by when Jesus was on the cross, He instructed Mary to John, His disciple, to take in as his mother, and not to His brethren.

The New Testament itself does not stop to explain the family relationship in detail, but it repeatedly refers to these men as Jesus’ brothers. John 7:5 says that “neither did his brethren believe in him” during His earthly ministry. Later, however, they became believers. After the resurrection, Acts 1:14 shows Jesus’ brothers gathered with the disciples in prayer.

James became especially important in the early church. Paul calls him “James the Lord’s brother” in Galatians 1:19, and he later became a leading figure in the Jerusalem church (Acts 15:13).

So the simplest biblical conclusion is that Jesus did have brothers and sisters, though Christians differ on whether they were Mary and Joseph’s later children or Joseph's children from a prior marriage.
