The Gospel Preached in All the World
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).
The spreading of the gospel throughout the world during the last centuries up to this day leads us to believe that the complete fulfillment of the promise of Matthew 24:14 is soon to be achieved. The era of modern Christian missions started with the work of William Carey in 1793. Since that time, the Christian mission field has been open to the world in incredible and vast ways.
Coupled with the foreign missions have gone the translation and circulation of the Scriptures. Whereas the first 18 centuries of the Christian Era saw the Bible translated into only 71 languages, the 19th—watched the total jumped to 567. By the middle of the 20th century, the number had escalated to over 1,000. Today, almost the entire world have access to the Scriptures in their own tongue. And the Bible has been the number one best seller book of the year every year.
Radio, television and satellites present remarkable opportunities to evangelize the world through broadcasting. Today satellites can transmit God’s messages to cover the entire world.
And just as the mass communication mediums have provided the world with a knowledge of the saving Gospel message, the technology of the Internet in the 21st century far exceeds those limits. The internet has become the most phenomenal tool of communication and information the world has ever known. The ongoing development of internet technology will eventually make it the one inclusive source for all informational services. Thus, making it possible for the words of Christ in Matthew 24:14 to be completely fulfilled.
The Lord will make sure to give His saving truth to every person before He comes again. Every person will get a chance to hear the gospel and make a decision for or against it before the final judgement. God is fair and He desires that all of His children come to the knowledge of His love.
