So John is asking who are the two witnesses of the end times? Thank you, John. That’s a very nice short concise question for a very lengthy answer. Yet probably the biggest disparity between answer and question leads, but let’s see how quickly we can move through it. So let’s start at Revelation, chapter eleven, verse three. And it reads, And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy 1203 square days clothed in sack worth. What are two witnesses? First, what’s the significance of two? The number two is almost always across the board. And the Bible associated with witnessing and testimony. Exodus 31, verse 18, it says, and Moses was given two tables of testimony, tables of stone written with the finger of God. So here the Ten Commandments are referred to as testimony. And how many tables are there? There’s two. And in Deuteronomy 17, verse six, it says, on the evidence of two witnesses or three witnesses, he who is to die shall be put to death and shall not be put to death on the evidence of one witness. If you think in the grand scheme of things, in the big picture, is there a reason God needs to give two witnesses, at least to us, to the human race?
Speaker 1
One perspective can always be biased more so than the second one. Well, Besides, the practical reason, is God going to do something in particular? Is there going to be anybody put to death such that God needs to give at least two witnesses? I think Tina just talked about it. Right.
Speaker 2
No way. What say that again.
Speaker 1
Is God going to put anybody to death such that he needs to at least give them at least two witnessing opportunities, present them with at least two witnesses before they receive the death sentence.
Speaker 2
I see what you’re saying. So, yes, basically, God’s just God and he’s a fair judge. And so, yeah, he’s going to give people the opportunity to be like, hey, I need at least two people speaking against me to put me to death. So you want to say the answer?
Speaker 1
You want me to say I think you just answered it. Right. You just talked about the end of the Millennium and what was going to happen to the wicked at that time. Yeah, they’re going to die in his fairness. And we’ve talked about this before in other videos. So go back and look, maybe week four, I think it was God is fair, gives extreme warning. And so he’s given at least two witnesses, and he often gives witnesses in pairs. So Jesus sends out two disciples, all the disciples, two by two God’s people. Actually, it’s twelve. Two times six. Six is a symbol, usually for people. So two times people, then you’re dealing with a group of God’s people who are witnesses. What else do we see that there’s two. And we talked about it earlier and we see in Revelation eleven, it says they prophesy. So prophets prophesy what’s left of the prophets. Go back to Revelation eleven three. It says they shall prophesy 1203 scored days. No human really lived that long, right? Not even Methuselah. No, he didn’t. That was even longer than Methuselah’s life. This is talking about.
Speaker 2
Sorry, what was that just said the 1260 days is prophetic. So it’s years. So it’s 1260 years, not literal days, which would be three and a half years. So just to clarify that.
Speaker 1
Yeah, let’s actually go there. Good point. If we back up now to Revelation eleven, verse one, so many numbers. Revelation eleven, verse one says, then I will give a measure and read. And then angel said, Rise and measure the temple of God and the altar and those who worship there and leave out the court which is outside of the temple, and do not measure it, for this has been given to the Gentiles. So not God’s people, the Gentiles, the Heathens, and they will tread the Holy city underfoot for 42 months. So if you do the math, 42 months, take 42 months, times it by 30 days. That’s how Jewish people do the math. You end up with 1260 days. So this same period of time when you have God’s temple and the New Testament, there are many verses we could go through don’t have time for everything here, right. But God’s temple now is his Church or God’s Holy city. His people is going to be filled with his people. So we’re talking about his people. His Church is now infiltrated. There’s lots of Heathens in it. There’s this terrible time when Christianity has gone into apostasy and it’s just been treading down by the pagans.
Speaker 1
Paganism and Christianity have merged, unfortunately, and Christianity has suffered. And so during this time, during this 1260 day period, what are we going to see? This period also appears in Daniel. Daniel seven versus 24 25, talks about this power, this little Horn power that comes up and that he in verse 25, it says he’ll persecute the Saints of the Most High and intend to change times and laws. So where do we find times and laws? It’s going to be in Scripture, right? Yes, the law, the law of Moses. And later on. So this is being trampled on. It’s being attacked by heathenism, by paganism that’s gotten into the Church. Maybe now you have an idea where we’re going, but we don’t have to guess. We have more clues as to what we saw. These two witnesses, revelation eleven four, it says, these are the two olive trees and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the Earth. This is now pointing us to Zachariah four, verses two and six, where Zechariah is having this vision. And he’s seen these, a lampstand of solid gold with a bowl on top of it. And on the stand, seven lampstands with seven pipes to the seven lampstands.
Speaker 1
And then there’s two olive trees by it, one on the right of the bowl and one on the left. And Zakaria is asked by the Angel, what are these, my Lord? Sorry. He asked the Angel, what are these? And the angel who talked with Zachariah answered and said, do you not know what these are? And he said, no. And the answer is, this is the word of the Lord. Choose the rubble. So what are these two all trees? This is the word of the Lord. Choose the rubble, not by mine nor by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord. And going back to Revelation eleven four, it says, these are also the two candlesticks. Psalm 119 105 says, Thy word is a lamp onto my feet and a light onto my path. So I’m going to say, what are these two witnesses? It’s the Old and the New Testament or the law and the prophets. The Bible is the scripture. These are two witnesses that are they’re witnessing right now, the ultimate witnesses. And then God’s people give voice to these witnesses. But I got more evidence. Revelation eleven five, same chapter we’ve been looking at.
Speaker 1
Revelation eleven five, next verse. And if any man will hurt them, these two witnesses, fire proceeds out of the mouth of them and devours the enemies. And if any man will hurt them, he must in this light manner be killed. Well, it’s really interesting. I mean, there’s a story in Sikh and Kings where Elijah prophesies the fire, comes down and destroys people. So starts alluding to that story is symbolic, though, of really Deuteronomy four, verse two, for example, where there’s this curse on anybody who modifies the word of God. And we see that again. For example, in Revelation 22, verse 18, again, it says, For I testify unto every man that hears the words of the prophecy of this book. If any man shall add unto these words, God will add unto him the plagues that are written in this book. So there’s these curses. So if anybody damages the Bible, changes or alters it, there’s curses written in there that they will suffer consequences. Revelation eleven five. The next verse then talks about shutting up the heavens, water turning to blood in the Earth, having plagues. Again, you look at Deuteronomy 28, there’s a whole list of curses there for people who if they don’t follow God, there’s going to be curses that come as a result of it because God spoke it, because it’s in the word.
Speaker 1
Now we have the power or that God’s word has the power to affect that on people, all these curses. So these two witnesses really are about the Bible. I could keep going, though. There’s a lot to this chapter eleven, but I’m being told we’re out of time. So I know we didn’t touch on some of the things you want to touch on Tina. Right. Like when did these actually die?
Speaker 2
Unless you want me to say it really fast.
Speaker 1
We’re not talking out of the Bible, then. But we answer the question. That’s the question. We could just keep going and going and going. Repeat. Who are they?
Speaker 2
Who are the two witnesses of the end times?
Speaker 1
It’s the law and the prophets of the old testament. And the new testament. Amen. All right. Thumbs up. All right. We have a lot of proof laid out there. And there’s still more as I said. Short question. Long answer. Yes. Bye.
