What are the qualities that a Christian woman should look for in a mate?

BibleAsk TeamPosted on

Here are some of the main qualities that a Christian woman should look for in a mate:

1-Has a good relationship with the Lord

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself” (Luke 10:27).

2-Loving

1 John 4:8 says, “But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” We can conclude that any man who truly loves God, is a man who loves without limitations.

3-Unselfish

“It is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave; just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:26-28).

4-Can be trusted

“Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator” (Colossians 3:9-10).

5-Hard working

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” (Colossians 3:23).

6-A praying man

“Pray continually” (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

7-Forgiving

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32).

8-Self-controlled

“If you stay calm, you are wise, but if you have a hot temper, you only show how stupid you are” (Proverbs 14:29).

9-A leader

“But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God” (1 Corinthians 11:3).

10-Has a clean reputation

Proverbs 22:1 states, “A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold.”

A Christian woman would want in her mate the qualities that reflect the character of Jesus Christ.
