God’s Mercy
God has shown such great mercy in giving His Son to die for sinners, and in pardoning their iniquities. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). Love is real only when it is in action. God’s love for sinner moved Him to give all that He had for their salvation (Romans 5:8). It is the essence of love to sacrifice self for others.
Through God’s love, it becomes possible for the believers to be “called the sons of God” (1 John 3:1). This should be man’s greater motivator for loving obedience and for devoting himself to the Lord. No one is refused the benefits of saving grace. There is but one condition—belief in, and willing cooperation with, Christ.
