Was Reverend Moon the Messiah?
According to Reverend Moon (1920-2012), he was the Messiah of the Second Coming since he believed that Jesus will not be coming again (Divine Principle, pg. 520). Sadly, Satan has invented many false teachings about the second coming of the Messiah and is deceiving millions into believing that the Messiah has already come or that He will come in some non-biblical manner.
“Take Heed”
Christ has warned us of Satan’s strategy, saying, “Take heed that no man deceive you” (Matthew 24:4). The Bible teaches that unbiblical teachings are from, “spirits of devils, working miracles” (Revelation 16:14); “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect” (Matthew 24:24).
These false Messiahs and prophets will do signs and wonders to deceive if possible the very elect. The implication is that these “signs” could be almost, but not entirely, convincing to “the very elect.” These faithful ones have obeyed the counsel of the True Witness to the Laodiceans to “anoint” their “eyes with eye salve” (Revelation 3:18), and are therefore able to distinguish between the true Biblical Christ and the false unbiblical Christ.
Christ Coming in the Clouds
Christ specifically stated that the Messiah will not appear in the desert or come to the seance chambers (verse 26). He will remain in the clouds and will not touch the earth (Mark 13:26). The saints “shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air” (1 Thessalonians 4:17). Christ forewarned us, “Behold, I have told you before” (Matthew 24:25).
So, the acid test to Messiah’s coming is this: What does the Bible say about it? People who know what the Bible says about the second coming of Christ will not be led astray by Satan. “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them” (Isaiah 8:20). A genuine love for the truth will help the believers to be protected against the delusions of the enemy, the seducing spirits, and the doctrines of devils.
Satan will use marvelous works and great manifestations of miraculous power as his final attempt to deceive the world. Paul warned, “The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved” (2 Thessalonians 2:9,10). Even though Satan can’t do miracles involving creative acts, he has the power to bind men in physical illness (Luke 13:16) and then free them when it suits his purposes.
