To me suicide is rest. Why is it wrong to end one’s life?

Contemplating Suicide?

You may feel utterly hopeless that suicide seems like rest. But this is the devil’s lie. Life is a precious gift from God (Jeremiah 1:4-5) and it is a sin to take it away. Your life belongs to Him because He created you (Genesis 2:7) and He has redeemed you (John 3:16). Jesus loved you enough to die for you and save you (John 15:13). He is waiting with open arms to love you, bless you and comfort you (Matthew 11:28). So, you owe it to yourself to get to know Him before you give up. What have you got to lose?

Jesus suffered and died so you don’t have to.  In Isaiah 53 we read, “Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows… But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” Jesus Christ endured all this so that you will live forever in perfect happiness. He promised, “…Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you…” (Psalm 50:15).

God’s Plan For Your Life

Suicide is not the answer. You have tried everything else why not try the Lord now and give Him a chance to bless your life. God has good plans for you of peace and a good future (Jeremiah 29:11). He will show you the path you need to take for He promised, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you” (Psalm 32:8). You will never walk alone.

Jesus is ready to heal your broken life and fulfill your dreams. He declared, “The LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor…to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve…to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair” (Isaiah 61:1-3).

Friend, invite the Lord into your heart and pray this prayer: “My Heavenly Father, come into my heart, and be my Lord. I put my trust in You. Forgive and cleanse me from all sin. Give me hope and courage. Thank You for hearing my prayer. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Be sure that the Lord will answer your prayer. And your life will never be the same again. Suicide is not the answer. God is. Multitudes have sought the Lord and will testify to His power in changing their lives so don’t give up.

Psalm 23

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.”
