Alright. So Renee is asking, there is a scripture, I believe it says in the end times that the time will be accelerated.

Speaker 2

So this is an interesting question. Tina, I love your thoughts too on this in case you think of other verse here. So I’m not aware of anything that’s really talking about time being accelerated in the sense of like talk about physics. And I think most scripture really isn’t trying to give us science, it’s trying to give us deeper spiritual principles. But I think probably maybe, Renee, if I’m guessing right, maybe you’re thinking about Matthew 24, starting at verse 21. And it says, for then there will be great tribulations such as, as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor shall ever be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved. But for the electric those days will be shortened. So it’s about days being shortened. We also see parallel verse in Mark 13, verses 19 to 20. So there’s this great time of tribulation that’s going to occur in the last days shortly before Christ return. And Christ is going to say those days will be shortened for the elect states. So they would normally go on longer this period of time, this period could go longer, but God is going to cut that period short.

So it’s not talked about in terms of physics. The time will be getting shorter and shorter and shorter, but again this period will be shortened. And then in terms of lease, perception of time, pace of life, I think Daniel twelve four predicted that modern life is going to be really fast paced. And hectic, we see that Matthew twelve four says, but you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro and knowledge shall greatly increase. That sums up today where we’re flying all around. We could be anywhere we want within 24 hours or less. And we have the internet and just massive amounts of information. Just think how much Google and YouTube and Facebook all these are storing. I mean, they’re storing our lives now and we’re learning so much in science. So time has really picked up for us in a way that no society has ever had to experience before. And then we also have the ability to speed up time in the sense of speeding up Christ’s return. We see this in two Peter three, starting at verse eleven. It says, therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, talk about like the atmosphere or the elements going to be melted with fire, what manner of person ought you to be in holy conduct and goodliness Godliness, sorry.

Looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat. So he says, Looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God. And this is to me a really fascinating verse where I think God is saying, hey, I’m delaying my coming because you guys have a job to do. And if we fulfill our job as Christians, if we let God perfect his character in us and we could show the world what the love of God is really like, then the world is ready. The world has had a chance to see what I’m truly like and decide whether they want a relationship with me and then he can come gather his own people. So I hope we can all look forward to hastening the Lord’s coming and prepare for ourselves, for that tribulation to come, which praise God, he will cut short. I hope that answers your question there. Renee and Tina, did you have any thoughts of other verses that might apply here?

Speaker 3

Honestly, that was the exact verse that came to my mind was Matthew 24, verse 22, that accept in those last days basically, that unless they’re shortened that no flesh would be saved and for the elect safe sake, the elect sake, that God will shorten them. And it reminds me, the only other verse I would add to that would be just Daniel, chapter twelve, verse one. Basically that this time is at that time Michael shall stand up the great prince who stands for your people, and there shall be a time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered everyone that’s found written in the book. And so just to understand that it’s an intense time, it’s very intense. It’s a time of trouble that’s never been since there’s been a nation ever in the history of the world. It will be so bad. I really think it’s almost incomprehensible just how intense and difficult it will be in those last few days of earth’s history. And so I think that’s why Jesus says, and these days will be shortened like you’re saying, kind of like accelerated, let’s just wrap this up because we got to get through this.

Speaker 3

This is the worst of the worst, but by faith we will get through it as God’s people and the he who is faithful to the end will be saved. And so it’s not something to be scared of, it’s just something that God is making you aware that it will be an intense time, it will be a time of trouble. I love that verse between these two chapters in the book of Revelation, it talks about that when Jesus comes, that these wicked people will say, maybe the rocks fall on us to hide us from the presence of the Lamb. And they say, who shall be able to stand? And in the next chapter it says that the people who washed their robes in the blood of Christ, they are the ones who are able to stand. And so there will be a people who will be able to stand, they will be able to endure and get through this time of trouble as they are washed in the blood of the Lamb, as they keep the commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus. And so I just want to encourage you that there will be intense times coming ahead, but let’s just give our lives to Jesus.

Speaker 3

Let God be our God and let him be the one that prepares us for that day.
