Two treasure hunters— a Pole and a German —on August 28, claimed to have located an armored Nazi train, possibly carrying a great treasure, in one of the underground tunnel passages built by the Nazis in southwest Poland during World War.
For decades people of southwest Poland believed that a Nazi train laden with plundered gold, jewels and artworks had been hidden beneath the Owl Mountains since the days of World War II.
The legend suggested that valuables, stolen from Polish Jews who were taken to concentration camps, were loaded into an armored military transport in early 1945 and shipped westward from the German city of Breslau to prevent the loot and falling into the hands of the Soviet Red Army.
Now the myth turns to a real expectation as the top Polish cultural official’s declaration shows the certainty of the train’s existence and gives the Warsaw government’s plan to collaborate with the purported finders.
The treasure hunters provided the images of the train and their lawyer, Jaroslaw Chmielewski, presented the offer to the government in Walbrzych to exchange location information for a share of any recovered valuables.
“This is an absolutely unprecedented situation,” Deputy Culture Minister Piotr Zuchowski said at a news briefing Friday in the Polish capital at which he announced that the government would accept the finders’ offer of precise location information in exchange for a 10% cut of any valuables found on board.
Imagine stumbling over a great treasure— millions and millions of dollars’ worth plus gold and precious stones! How would your life change upon this discovery?
The Bible is that treasure box with the only riches that will last forever. And instead of gold and jewels, it’s full of something infinitely better — the promises of God. “The kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field, the which when a man hath found, he hides, and for joy thereof goes and sells all that he hath, and buys that field” (Matt 13:44)
God wants you to open this treasure chest and get all the riches you personally have in His promises. When people treasure something they take ownership of it – They claim IT’S THEIRS! But you can only do that if you know His promises. Psalm 103 offers some of these promises:
“Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name…
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
Start claiming the treasures you already have in God’s Word?
