The Jews and Salvation
Christianity is a fulfillment to the Jew’s religion. There are more than 125 prophecies in the Old Testament predicting the coming of the Messiah. Many are extremely specific. All of these were fulfilled by Jesus. Let’s review just 12 of them. The following points are arranged as follows:

1. | Born in Bethlehem | Micah 5:2 | Matthew 2:1 |
2. | Born of a virgin | Isaiah 7:14 | Matthew 1:18-23 |
3. | David’s lineage | Jeremiah 23:5 | Revelation 22:16 |
4. | Target of murder attempt | Jeremiah 31:15 | Matthew 2:16-18 |
5. | Betrayed by a friend | Psalms 41:9 | John 13:18, 19, 26 |
6. | Sold for 30 silver coins | Zechariah 11:12 | Matthew 26:14-16 |
7. | Crucified | Zechariah 12:10 | John 19:16-18, 37 |
8. | Lots cast for His clothes | Psalms 22:18 | Matthew 27:35 |
9. | No bones broken | Psalms 34:20 | John 19:31-36 |
10. | Buried in a rich man’s tomb | Isaiah 53:9 | Matthew 27:57-60 |

Dr. Peter Stoner, former chairman of the departments of mathematics, astronomy, and engineering at Pasadena College California, worked with 600 students for several years applying the “principle of probability” to the prophecies of the Messiah’s coming. They chose just eight from the many available and finally decided the chances of all eight being fulfilled in one man in a lifetime is one in 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.
What would the odds be on the more than 125 prophecies of the Messiah? Without a doubt, Jesus Christ is the Messiah – the “Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”(John 1:29).
Paul teaches, “But when Messiah arrived as a High Priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more complete Tabernacle, not made with hands—that is, not of this creation—and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered into the Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been made common, sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Messiah, Who through the eternal Spirit, offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the Living God?” (Hebrews 9:11-14).
Jesus the Messiah has come as the High Priest and through His once-for-all sacrifice for sin offers complete atonement to all people as He ministers in the Heavenly sanctuary. The Jews were God’s chosen people and through them came the Jewish Messiah to bless all the nations of the earth, however it is only through Jesus that the Jews can find God’s complete atonement and forgiveness. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but by Me” (John 14:6). There is no other way of salvation (Acts 4:12; 1 Timothy 2:5). If the Jews continue their stand in rejecting the Savior, they will miss out on God’s gift of salvation.
