Daniel Radosh, one of the World’s top 25 bloggers (not a Christian) says this about the Bible “The familiar observation that the Bible is the best-selling book of all times obscures a more startling fact: The Bible is the best-selling book of the year, every year.” Daniel Radosh, The Good Book Business, The New Yorker 2006/18/06.
Millions seek the Bible today because it answers life’s basic questions:
- Where did I come from? God created humans in His image. Men and women are the sons and daughters of God, the Mighty King (Galatians 3:26). God loved His children so much that He gave His Son to die and pay the penalty for their sins so they could be saved from eternal death (John 3:16).
- Why am I here? Our aims for life today should be to learn about God’s salvation and to accept Jesus’ offer of restoration to His image (Romans 8:29).
- Where am I going? Jesus will come very soon to take His people to heaven and destroy sin. Then, the redeemed will live forever in ultimate peace and happiness (John 14:1-3; Revelation 21:3, 4).
The words of the Bible has power to change lives. It delivers people from addictions, bondage, sin and changes sinners into saints. No other book on earth has been able to make such an effect in its readers. This is because the Bible contains the divine power of the Creator.
Jesus the most powerful man on earth, who lived a sinless life, healed the sick, raised the death, cast out demons, exercised power over nature and fed thousands of people, testified to the truthfulness of the Bible. Without resources or military force, Jesus changed the destiny of our planet forever through His divine Word.
God’s Word cannot be destroyed. Powerful men and entire nations tried to eliminate the Bible and destroy it, but they failed because “The word of the Lord endures for ever” (1 Peter 1:25). The principles of God’s government will last as long as God Himself continues to exist. Jesus declared, “ For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled” (Matthew 5:17, 18).
