Will the world end on December 21? NASA scientists took time on Wednesday (Nov. 28) to soothe 2012 doomsday fears, warning against the dark side of Mayan apocalypse rumors.
NASA’s ruled out many ideas such as: a rogue planet will hit Earth on Dec. 21, killing everyone or that the Earth’s magnetic field will suddenly reverse; the planet will travel almost 30,000 light-years and fall into the black hole at the center of the Milky Way galaxy; the planet will undergo a complete blackout from Dec. 23 to 25, etc.
But why is it that in spite of all these assurances Christians and non-Christian alike sense that the world is coming to an apocalyptic end? Why do wealthy elite like Tom Cruise build bunkers to escape dooms day. Even celebrities who have other things on their mind see that clearly:
Ashton Kutcher’s: “The world is about to end as we know it. You can see it already.”
Mel Gibson: “The precursors to a civilization that’s going under are the same, time and time again”
Woody Harrelson: “I think that there is a real sense in our culture that we are heading towards some kind of apocalypse”
I guess there are clear signs that can’t be ignored:
- ECONOMIC COLLAPSE
- WARS, CIVIL WARS, REVOLUTIONS, SOCIAL UNREST, ANARCHY
- FOOD SHORTAGES / FAMINES / DROUGHTS
- MAJOR EARTHQUAKES OR EXTREME WEATHER / EARTH CHANGE EVENTS
- PANDEMIC BREAKOUTS
The probability is very high that we are now entering the early stages of the apocalypse predicted in the Bible.
While this may bring utter fear to many, to the Christian, all this spikes a very different reaction. A reaction of utter peace and hope that very soon they will reach heaven.
But how can a person have this assurance today?
Simple. Make peace with God.
And, please, don’t keep your Father waiting cause time will not last.
