So Ian is asking when Jesus said ask anything in my name and it will be done, did he mean exactly that? So we should be able to pray for healing and in Jesus name and it be done. But what if it doesn’t to happen.

Speaker 2

Great question. That is a wonderful question because I love how Ian placed. The question is did he mean exactly that? And I like to say that everything that Christ says he means what he says and he says what he means. Let’s turn to John chapter 14. John chapter 14. And I’m going to read several verses actually here so that we can get the full context. I’m going to read John chapter 14, verses twelve through 15. This is what it says Verily I say unto you, he that believe it’s on me. The works that I do shall he do also and greater works than these shall he do because I go unto the Father. And whatsoever Ye shall ask in my name that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the sun. If Hee shall ask anything in My name, I will do it. And here is the clincher. If you love me, keep my Commandments. So here Christ is saying that I go to my Father, but as I go to my Father, your request I will bring to him. And if you say anything in my name it will be done.

Speaker 2

Why? Because you said in my name. Now honestly though, anything that we ask in his name will he do it? And the reason we think that is not possible. In verses 15 he ends that kind of promise, that very powerful imperative by saying in verses 15, if you love me, keep my Commandments. That means that if we were to ask anything in Christ’s name to the Father, then that means we’re truly God’s children, we’re truly Christ followers if we love Him by keeping His Commandments. And therefore if we love him and keep His Commandments, we’ll actually ask those things that are according to his will. This is why the only reference in the Bible that the disciples ever asked Christ for him to teach them to do something was when the disciples asked Christ by saying, Lord, teach us how to pray. And the very first part of that prayer was Our Father which are in heaven, hollowed be thy name, thy will be done on Earth as it is in heaven. So the prayer that we are to ask in the Father’s name to the Father in Christ’s name is for that God’s will number one would be done as it is in heaven, as it is in Earth.

Speaker 2

And so anything that we are to ask in Christ’s name, Christ will do, but he will only do according to His Father’s will and as we love and keep His Commandments.

Amen.

Speaker 1

Spot on.

Speaker 2

Hopefully it’s kind of thorough. Again, read John chapter 14 is a very beautiful chapter where Christ is saying that I do nothing of myself but of the father and therefore if he asks us to be the branch to the Vine he says that the branch can only survive if it’s connected to the vine and if it’s connected to the vine then we must ask things according to his will and once we ask things according to his will then anything we ask in his name he will do I think. Wendy, your mic is muted.

Speaker 1

Yes, thank you for that. Thank you. Wade that was a fantastic response. I’ll repeat myself we have a comment or question here from a viewer so let’s go ahead and bring that up. Loretta is asking are we going to know our loved ones in heaven?

Speaker 3

And to that I would say yes, absolutely. And to give you a verse I would say first Thessalonians four is probably our most beautiful promise of that. If you go to first Thessalonians four it starts in verse 13 where he says, but I would not have you ignorant brethren concerning those which are asleep so those who pass away that you do not sorrow even as others who have no hope and if you go down to verse 15 it’s talking about when Jesus comes for this we say unto you in verse 15 by the word of the Lord that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them that are asleep in verse 16 says for the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of an Archangel and with the Trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first and verse 17 says then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air so shall we ever be with the Lord so yes, we will know our loved ones in heaven we will all be caught up together and go to heaven at the same time and that is such a beautiful promise so that we can all experience heaven together those which love the Lord love his appearing so yes I believe we will know our loved ones in heaven and we will go together to that wonderful place to be with our Lord Jesus.

Speaker 1

Amen. Thank you for that, Tina.
