Is there a hell? Or is it a myth?

Hell Fire

Hell

Jesus and the prophets of the Bible testified to existence of Heaven and Hell. God is a God of love (1 John 4:16) but He is also a God of justice (Deuteronomy 32:4) that is why Heaven and Hell will take place at the end of time. The scriptures teach that the fire of hell will be the literal punishment of the wicked (Matthew 5:30; Matthew 10:28; 25:41) who will enter it in bodily form and be destroyed both soul and body. Those that refused Christ’s death on their behalf will have to die for their own sins (Psalms 37:10, 20).

There is not one single soul in that fire today. The wicked will receive their punishments at “the day of judgment” (2 Peter 2:9). Those that their names were not found in the book of life will be judged then (Revelation 20:15). God’s fire will encompass the earth, melt it, and burn up all “the works that are therein.” The atmospheric heavens will explode and “pass away with a great noise” (2 Peter 3:10). In God’s future new kingdom, all “former things” will pass away. Hell, being one of the former things, is included.

Hell Will Not Be Forever

God promises that the fire will be abolished (Revelation 21:1, 4) and it will not last forever (Malachi 4:1; Psalms 21:9; Revelation 20:9; Malachi 4:1, 3). It will go out (Isaiah 47:14). Unlike popular belief, the wicked will not keep on burning endlessly; the fires will literally “burn them up” and they will cease to exist (Jeremiah 17:27; Matthew 3:12; 25:41; 2 Peter 3:7–13; Jude 7). And sin will rise no more (Nahum 1:9).

If God tortured the wicked in fire for the endless ages, He would be more ruthless than men have ever been throughout the ages. The truth is that an eternal fire of torment would be torture for the Creator also, who loves even the worest sinner unto death (John 3:16). For more on this, check the following link:
