Will the devil get cast into hell at the same time with humans?

Thank you for contacting BibleAsk.

The devil will be cast into hell at the same time with humans. The Last prophecy in the Bible takes about God’s final act of judgement on the angel of darkness and his followers: “The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are” (Revelation 20:10).

Jesus said, “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41). The destiny of the devil and his demons is already determined. The fallen angels “which kept not their first estate” (Jude 6,7) are going to perish in the fires of the last day (2 Peter 2:4).

After the 1000 years, the holy city will come down from heaven with the saints in it (Revelation 21:2), the wicked will attempt to capture it. At that time, God will rain down fire from heaven upon the earth, and it will destroy the devil, his angels, and all the wicked (Revelation 20:9,10).

The Bible does not tell us how long Satan and the sinners will be there before dying in the fire. But God says that all will be judged according to their works. This means some will receive longer punishment than others, based upon their deeds (Luke 12:47, 48).

But eventually hellfire will go out for in God’s new kingdom all “former things” will have passed away. Hell, being one of the former things, is included, so we have the Lord’s assurance that it will be abolished. Hell will not last forever. https://bibleask.org/is-hell-forever/

Then, God will recreate the earth and the heavens: “I saw a new heaven and a new earth. … And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:1, 4). Conditions as we know today will pass away. There will be nothing left that bears the mark of the curse of sin (Revelation 22:3).
