Okay.

So Robert is asking, is it required for every true Christian to become popular in the future after, quote, every eye shall see him, Jesus in the clouds. Revelation one seven.
Speaker 1
I would say again, no. When it’s talking about Jesus coming in clouds, this is the second coming. And so this is the end of the world. I mean at that point everybody knows about Jesus, everybody’s made a decision already to accept or deny Jesus Christ. So we have no reason to. I mean by that time we have already done the work, if that makes sense. So again, God’s people are not trying to be popular but we are trying to get the message out. Like it says in the book of Matthew chapter 24 and verse 14, it says, and this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come. So just prior to this end, which we see in Revelation 21, the end of this world passing away, in Revelation 21 it says, and there was a new heavens and a new earth. So this is talking about the new earth. There’s no need to be popular in the sense that at that point we will have already done the work. But I do want to point out something very important that it does say in Matthew 24, verse nine, a few verses before.
Speaker 1
And it says, basically in verse nine, it says, and they shall deliver you up to be afflicted during this times of trouble and shall kill you, and you shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And so are we a popular people if we’re being hated by all nations? No, we are not popular in the sense that we are liked. Obviously this is the opposite of being popular. We are unpopular. It is an unpopular thing to be a true Christian, especially at the end of time when basically people are deciding once and for all are they going to follow Christ or are they going to follow themselves and the world and ultimately with the devil? And so yeah, no, god’s people are not going to be popular especially, even coming to the end of time. But we will be doing a work of reformation, of preaching the and even if we aren’t doing this even right before Jesus comes, because we don’t know the day of the hour, but we do know that Jesus says from his time until he comes again, we are going to receive persecution. And we see that in Matthew chapter five and verses, let me see, sorry, ten through 15.
Speaker 1
Basically Jesus says, blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sakes, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when men shall revile you and persecute you and say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake. And then he goes on to know, rejoice and be exceedingly glad for great is your reward in heaven for. So they persecuted the prophets which were before you. So basically Jesus is saying, yes, when you follow me, you are going to be hated. People are going to persecute you. They don’t want to hear the message of Jesus. They don’t want to hear that there’s a judgment coming and that they need to make their hearts right with God and make reconciliation with others and they need to forgive others and they need to be forgiven and make things right for sins that they’ve done. And so yeah, this is definitely not popular. We’ll be well known. Christians tend to be well known. Martyrs were well known, but they were not well liked. They were not popular. And I just want to close this as far as to encourage you in your walk with Christ. Because for me, when I began to be a Christian, I realized quickly that when I wanted to follow Christ in a very sincere way, I realized even in my church, I might have to stand alone.
Speaker 1
And it’s not a bad thing because you’re standing with Jesus. And Jesus says in the Book of Matthew, verses 13 and 14 and these are my favorite verses in the Bible, Jesus says because straight is the gate or narrow is the gate and narrow is the way which leads unto life, and few there be that find it. So it’s not popular in the sense that everybody knows and everybody does it. It’s not something that everybody does. Even if they know about Jesus, it doesn’t mean they know him personally and have a true genuine relationship with him. In verse 13, I apologize, it says, enter ye in at the straight gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way. Popular basically is the way that leads to destruction. And many there be that go therein, but Jesus is know go that narrow way go the way know not so popular because narrow is the way that leads to life and few there be that find it. Jesus wants you to walk in his narrow way. And there will be times where there’ll be persecution, there will be hardships. But the reward is so much better than anything we could ever go through in this world.
Speaker 1
Because our goal is Jesus, who is love and eternal life and heaven and eternal in every good thing that goes with being with Jesus. And I’ll close with one last verse. I’m sorry. This is one of my other favorite verses. It’s Acts, chapter 14, verse 22. And basically Paul says after he was stoned to death. So yeah, he wasn’t very popular either. He was stoned to death for the preaching of the gospel, but he was miraculously awakened out of his sleep. And it says he was confirming the souls of the disciples and exhorting them to continue in the face and that we must through much tribulation enter the kingdom of God. And so the tribulation, honestly, probably more than anything is going to be from negative things from other people. Because the gospel, it says you’re the salt of the earth. And for some people, they like a little salt. Those who are genuinely looking for Christ, they’re going to like the Spirit and the Christ in us. But for many people, the salt to them is an irritant. They don’t like it. They don’t like being told that there’s a God and that he’s a righteous judge and that we’re going to have to be accountable for the things we say and do.
Speaker 1
And so, yeah, going back to that, Christianity in its truest sense is not a popular thing, but it is something that is famous and will continue to be famous, everybody will know, until the end of time. So I hope that answers your question.
