I am sorry to hear about the death of your sister, you have our deepest condolences. At such incidents, people may ask: is God fair?
God created Adam and Eve perfect with the freedom to choose good or evil. They can choose to accept His love and trust Him or choose to disobey. Sadly, they chose to disobey. Because of sin, the world now has become under the curse of sin and death (Romans 5:12). “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
But the One that truly paid the price for our sin is God Himself. Although we sinned, the Father offered His only Son to die so that we can live “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). The good news is that Jesus came to change men’s hearts through the power of the Holy Spirit, and He does this for those that ask Him for salvation (2 Corinthians 5:17).
If God permits suffering and perplexity to come upon us, it is not to destroy us but to refine and sanctify us (Romans 8:17). “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). Nothing can touch the Christian except by our Lord’s permission (Job 1:12; 2:6). And one day in the soon future, God will destroy sin and its consequences in trhis world and will make all things new (Revelation 21:5).
