All right. So Robert is asking if I had a positive vision about what God can do in my life and then write it down, then will it happen?

Speaker 2

That’s a really great question, Robert. And there’s a couple quick verses I just want to show you really quickly. If God is giving you a vision, I’m not sure exactly what you mean. If God gave you a dream, if it was just an idea that came in your head, it was just like a revelation, a thought, I’m not exactly sure. But it’s definitely important that we understand if it’s God speaking to us and then acting upon what God has given us as far as writing it down, that may or may not do very much. It may not be a bad idea to write it down, but it’s not enough, I think, to simply write it down. And I just want to show you a couple of quick verses as far as kind of God’s guidance in acting upon a vision that God has given to you. In Proverbs chapter 16, verse nine, the Bible says, a man’s heart devises his way, but the Lord directs his steps. And so I just want to, first of all, make sure you’re checking with yourself that you might have an idea, might have a vision that you want to have happen, but make sure you surrender it to God because God is the one who can truly direct your steps.

The next verse I wanted to show you is in Psalms 119, verse 133, where basically David is praying a very specific prayer and he says, order my steps in your word or according to your word, and let not iniquity have dominion over me. And so basically, if you’re going to follow in the steps God has for you, make sure it’s in accordance to God’s word. That is really your greatest guiding tool to know if the plans or the vision that you have, you feel God’s given set before you, that it is truly from God, that it is according to his word. And it doesn’t cause you to stray or to sin in any way. I’ve seen some people are like, oh well, God gave me a vision of this new wife and it’s like, well, that doesn’t mean you cheat on your current wife to get that. That’s not from God, that’s not in harmony with His Word and so it’s not in harmony with his will because God doesn’t change, god cannot lie. And so whatever it is that God’s given you, you have to make sure that you are measuring it against God’s Word and that it is causing you to walk in a way that is right and not in a way of sin.

Just a couple of other quick verses. I was just thinking it is really important to have vision from God and that is a very important thing. God does speak very highly of having vision, especially vision from God or a goal that God has given to you. God speaks of this in Proverbs chapter 29, verse 18. It says, where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint or the people perish. It says, but happy is he who keeps the law. So again, making sure that whatever it is, whatever vision or path that God is calling you to, that you are following it in a way that is in accordance with God’s word, which is again his law, his will for your life, for all of our lives. And just to kind of give you some tips in this path, there’s a really great verse in Proverbs chapter 13, verse four. And basically it says the soul. So again, it’s not enough to just write it down, you need to act upon it. And Proverbs 13, verse four, it says, the soul of the sluggered desires and has nothing but the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.

Speaker 2

So whatever vision God has given to you, make sure you act upon it. You can’t just write it down and expect it just to fall in your lap. You do need to make whatever power that lies within you, you need to act upon it in order to fulfill that vision for your life. God definitely wants you to do your part. Just like the steward who had he gave one five talents, one, two talents and one, one talent. And the ones who were given five and two, they worked and they increased and doubled their talents. But the person who was just given one, he buried it, he didn’t do anything with it. And God was really demonstrated, he was not happy with that because he said you needed to do something with it. I didn’t give you these talents, these visions, these whatever, to do nothing with it. You need to act upon whatever it is God’s given you. And the last piece of advice, which again we’re seeing a lot in the Book of Proverbs, but it’s just such a good book, honestly. If you really want to help, know God’s will for your life and just get some practical tips from the Bible, read the Book of Proverbs.

I would highly recommend it. It addresses almost every part of life and just some really great verses. In Proverbs chapter three, verses five and six, it says, trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. So whatever it is God is telling you, make sure again, it’s according to his will. And follow what God’s will is for your life and trust God with all your heart. And don’t just trust what you think is best, what God says is best in His Word. And in verse six it says, in all your ways, acknowledge Him and he will direct your path. It is a promise. God will direct your path if you acknowledge God in every aspect of your life and if you continue to read this chapter, it’s just amazing. And he talks about in verse seven, don’t be wise in your own eyes. Fear God and depart from evil. So as you get to know God and you get to know his will, you might start seeing things like, hey, this isn’t in harmony with God’s will. I need to get these things out of my life. And as I continue to fulfill God’s will in my life, I will see this vision that God has for me unfold and God will definitely bless you.

Speaker 2

And in verse eight it says, it shall be health to your navel and marrow to your bones. So basically it will be for your blessing, it will be for your good. And it goes on later even to say that whom the Lord love, don’t despise. If God might have to chasten you along the way, he might have to discipline you along the way. He says that whom the Lord loves, he also disciplines. And so in reaching the goal, the vision that God has for your life, just understand it might not be a smooth path, there might be some bumps along the road, but they are for your good as you continue to surrender your will to the Lord and ask Him for guidance. So that would be my advice to you from the Bible. And my number one other piece of advice would just be for you to pray and seek the Lord daily and seek his word. And whatever blessing it is that God gives you through this process, use it for his glory, to share with others the love of God with them, and so that this vision isn’t just something selfish for you, because everything God gives you is for the blessing of other people.

Speaker 2

So I hope that answers your question. And yeah, Jay or Wendy. Anything else?

Speaker 1

Nope. That was very good answer.
