I don’t feel right in my church. Is it me or the church?

The Test of a True Church

There are many factors that play a role in finding out why you don’t feel right in the church you’re in. The main way to decide whether you are in the right church is the Biblical support for their statement of beliefs. While all churches claim that they are following the truth, many are not.

The Bible gives us the clear test of a true church: “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them” (Isaiah 8:20). The Word of God is the standard of truth and the guide to right living. Whatever people may speak that is not in line with that Word should be rejected.

As you compare your church’s beliefs with the law of God and the testimony of prophets, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal whether there is a truth that is being violated by your church. And the Lord promised, “the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13). The Lord is faithful to His promise.

If the Lord reveals a violation in your church to the biblical principles, then you need to find another Bible teaching church. For the Lord says, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues” (Revelation 18:4).

The Biblical Church

To help you find the right church, the Lord in Revelation 12 and 14 gives its description:

-“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus” (Revelation 14:12).
-“And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ” (Revelation 12:17).

God’s end time church will: 1- keep God’s Ten Commandments, including His true seventh day Sabbath (Exodus 20). 2-It will have the faith of Jesus. 3-It will also have the testimony of Jesus, which is the spirit, or gift, of prophecy (Revelation 19:10). May the Lord give you discernment that you may able to check your church with the Biblical one (James 1:5)

But if you are in the true Biblical church and you’re still feeling discomfort, this could mean that God is convicting you concerning a weakness in your life which you need to bring to Him for complete forgiveness, healing and deliverance. And Jesus promised, “All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will a]by no means cast out” (John 6:37).

He also said, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you” (Matthew 7:7). So, go to the Lord and ask Him to heal, save, deliver and give you total victory that you may experience His peace and joy in your life (Romans 5:1).
