Homosexuals used to feel discriminated against before they got marriage equality. But aren’t they right, especially in a secular society?

It is not up to Christians to permit or not permit homosexuals to marry in our secular world. These decisions are subject to the governments. Different countries have different legal laws, and it is these legal laws that set the boundaries of marriage.

The Scriptures teach that homosexual activity is a against God’s order (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9; Romans 1:26-27). And it also teach that people become homosexuals because of sin (Romans 1:24-27) and ultimately because of their own choices.

Therefore, Christians are to stand in disapproval to the laws which are in opposition to God’s Word. In this case, they are to stand in disapproval to homosexual marriages. They should speak out that the homosexual sins should never be promoted in society. They should share God’s truths and also make their stand known in publications and in voting.

Because the secular world doesn’t support the Biblical views, Christians who stand for the truth, will be persecuted for their beliefs. But the Christians’ loyalty should be to God alone. And they should act in in a way that will bring glorify to His Name (Isaiah 44:3).

God commands Christians to love Him first (Matthew 22:37) and to also love one another (Matthew 22: 39). Therefore, Christians should pray for the salvation of the homosexuals as well as for forsaking their sins. However, loving one another does not mean that Christians should support their sin.
