So and I apologize if I mispronounce your name, I will give it my best think maybe something like that. Do humans stay the same age in heaven?

Speaker 2

Well that is a really great question I’m going to say today I really appreciate this because this is you know, very important topic that you want to make sure you know as we are all, I hope planning to be in heaven one day very soon. So I would say do humans stay the same in heaven as far as will they remain the same age? I would say yes. As far as their bodies being the same like do we have the same body? No. And so I’ll share with that really quick. So just so you know, what the Bible says about God and his state of being is that he alone has immortality. And you read that in one Timothy chapter six, verses 15 and 16. So basically it says the only potentate, the king of Kings, the Lord of Lords, which is God in verse 16 says who only has immortality. So we know that God alone has immortality. So only God has eternal life and he is life basically in and of Himself. So everything that has life has been given life as a gift from Him. So where does that leave us? Well basically we had that gift of having eternal life on the condition that we were obedient to God.

Speaker 2

But we forsook that when Adam and Eve decided to sin and disobey God. That’s sin brought death into the world for the wages of sin is death. But God has never sinned. He is perfect, he has no sin. And so basically how God is, his state of being is eternal and he has immortality like we just saw. But the book of Hebrews gives us a little more insight. In Hebrews, chapter one, verses ten through twelve and basically in Hebrews 110 through twelve it talks about God and it says and thou Lord. So basically talking about God in the beginning has laid the foundation of the earth and the heavens are the works of your hands. And in verse eleven it says they will perish, but you remain and they shall wax old as does a garment in verse twelve says and as a vesture you shall fold them up and they shall be changed, but you are the same and your years shall not fail. So basically we’re I think j wendy. Oh, sorry. Anyways, sorry about that. I thought I heard something. When God is in or God’s state of existence is that he doesn’t change.

Speaker 2

Like he’s timeless, he’s eternal. So he’s not going to age, he’s not going to wax old like we get old on this earth we kind of peak around 25, 30 and then it kind of just goes down from there until eventually we fall asleep in Jesus. But God is not that way. God stays the same. And actually in Hebrews I believe it’s 13 five, it says, Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever. God is eternal. So will we stay the same in heaven? Not exactly, but yes in one way and no in another way. So if you go to the Book of Second Corinthians or excuse me, first Corinthians, excuse me, in chapter 15, the Bible says something very interesting there. So we’ll go to First Corinthians, chapter 15, verses 50 through 54, and this will basically be where we conclude our answer. And so basically in one Corinthians 15, starting in verse 50, it’s talking about the Second Coming. And so when we go to heaven, what will it be like? And so it says, Behold, I show you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, which is we won’t all die, but we will all be changed.

Speaker 2

So we are going to change from our current state now into something else. And in verse 52, it says, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump, for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. So we are corruptible, we are mortal. We don’t have eternal life in and of ourselves. It’s only a gift from God. And so verse 53, it says, for this corruptible must put on incorruption and this mortal must put on immortality. And then verse 54, it says, so when this corruptible shall put on incorruption and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, death is swallowed up in victory. So basically, us going to heaven, we are going to be changed. We’re going to have a new body and we’re no longer going to have this body that can get sick or tired or have illnesses or all these things that are in the life we have now. Our bodies now will be changed into immortal bodies, much like God, because the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Speaker 2

And so we will have that gift of immortality, that gift of eternal life, because we will have basically put on the gift that God has given to us in heaven. And then we will be like God in the sense that not that we are God in any way, not that we’re ruling like God, but in the sense that our bodies won’t ever die, in the sense that we won’t age, we won’t wax old, we won’t deteriorate in any way. So I hope that answers your question. And if you have any other thoughts or questions, be sure to send them our way.
