Psalms

The New Testament character of Christ as Prophet, Priest, Redeemer, and King is predicted in the Psalms. The Book of Psalms presents the Messiah in His heavenly nature and human descent, in His meekness and exaltation, in His pain and glory, in His priestly ministry and royal honor, and in the final victory and honor of His eternal kingdom. It has been said that a systematic essay on the Messiah could practically be compiled from Psalms. There are Messianic psalms simply because David was not only a singer, but he was also a prophet (Acts 2:29, 30).
